Safari Extender adds functionality to Safari in the form of a contextual menu item. With Safari Extender you can do things Safari never allowed you to do before, such as Save a complete Set of Tabs, Load a Set of Tabs, Cut and Paste a Tab, even paste it to a different window! You can easily get back to your optimal setup by loading a Tab Set. Or you can re-arrange your Tabs by making a Tab be the first one, or make it the last one. You can also compose an email with the current web address in your browser. An auto-save feature saves your currently opened tabs every 4 seconds. If Safari crashes you can easily get back to the state where you had been working before.
Rated (Very Good) MacWorld Magazine, June 2004 Issue
Note: (not yet compatible with 10.5)
Another option is to temporarily turn Images OFF, which helps when you have a lot of browsing to do in a short time. After you found what you need you can then turn graphics back ON easily. You can also access 5 back and forward locations from the menu or set the User Agent which helps with banking sites.
A highly requested option is to print the page with the current Title, Web Address and time stamp. Safari Extender does this for you! (Please note that the first print request without a window always fails)
Other convenient functions in the contextual menu allow you to quickly go back or forward in a page, reload the page and increase or reduce the text size, set the policy for Cookies and close a window. You can also search for text you have selected using Google, Yahoo, MSN or Wikipedia in a new tab. That way you keep the original page intact. Expect more features in the future. Your suggestions are always welcome!
To open the "contextual menu" in Safari, hold down the control key while you click the mouse in a web page. Note that if you just installed Safari Extender you may need to quit and re-run Safari before the Safari Extender menu shows up.
Safari Extender is Shareware, it costs 10 U.S. dollars after a 15 day trial period.

Safari Extender is Shareware, you can try it for 15 days before you need to purchase it. It costs $ 10 U.S. Dollars. Safari Extender has to be activated on your computer, if you need to run it on a second computer send us an email along with your order number.
You can purchase it securely with eSellerate by using the "Purchase" menu in the Safari Extender contextual menu.
Using Safari Extender
Many of the functions that Safari Extender provides to you depend on the "context", or the current state of your window. For example, you can only "cut" a Tab if you have more than one tab, a window without any tabs does not look pretty. You cannot "Go Back" to somewhere where you have not been before. So keep in mind that the commands you may see on the menu vary, depending on what may be relevant at the moment. While some of the options in Safari Extender are built into Safari, some users find it easier to select an option from a context menu than moving the mouse to the top of a window to click on a button or menu, depending on your screen size and computer setup this may or may not be important to you.
If you have not done so already, enable "Tabbed browsing" in the Preferences of Safari.
Below is a brief explanation of some of the menu options available to you from Safari Extender, first the top level:
Go Back - Available if there is a history for that Tab, it takes you back to the previous location.
Go Forward - Available if there is a history for that Tab, and you have used the back button.
Mail - Holds sub commands related to email.
Tabs - Holds sub comments related to dealing with Tabs.
User Agent - Holds sub commands that can be used to change the identity of your browser. Some web sites demand that you visit them with a certain browser or even a version of a browser because they only tested their site with that browser. This option allows you to masquerade your browser as Internet Explorer running on Windows, Netscape and so on. You will find this useful at sites such as banking, stock trading and so on.
Back To - Available if there is a history, can have up to 5 recent locations from your back history.
Forward To - Available if there is a history, can have up to 5 recent locations from your forward history.

Tabs submenu:
Make Tab The Last Tab - When you have more than one tab, and the current tab is not the last tab you can use this to move the tab to the end. This way you can re-organize your tabs. I tend to have junk tabs last and important, permanent things first.

Insert Tab - Inserts a new empty tab at the current tab location, shifting some tabs to the right depending on your position.

Paste Tab - Once you have "cut" a tab, use this menu to paste it back, it actually inserts the tab before the current tab.
Duplicate Tab - Creates a new tab, and loads the same location in it as what you had before. This is so that you don't loose track of a place.
Save Tab Set... - This option takes all the tabs you have, and remembers all the locations in your preferences. You are asked to name the tab "Set". A set is composed of all the current tab locations. For example, you can have a tab set with all the news sites, or shareware sites, or favorite stores. Tab sets are like macro-bookmarks where you can save and load many locations at the same time.
Load Tab Set - This option loads a set, a submenu shows you the current sets you have saved by name and when you choose one tabs are created and the locations stored in the set loaded in all the tabs.
Delete Tab Set - Removes a tab set from your preferences, once you no longer have use for a tab set you can delete it this way.
Export Tab Sets - Allows you to save all of your tab sets into a text file so that they can be recovered in case of a system restore or crash.
Auto Save Tab Set - Keeps track of the current tabs into a tab set that gets saved automatically every 4 seconds. See the ReadMe file for details.
